Anita Sarkeesian, a Canadian/American media critic who is also a popular public speaking event organizer. She is the founder of Feminist Frequency, a site which features video and posts on the representations of women in pop culture. Anita Sarkeesian is an award-winning Canadian-American feminist media critic as well as blogger. Feminist Frequency is a site dedicated to education, which examines women's positions in the pop culture narratives, is her brainchild. Additionally, she serves as the executive director. Committed to deconstructing the stereotypes of women that have been portrayed in pop culture she also is a vocal advocate for issues relating to targeted exploitation of women and the other marginalized groups of the Internet space. Sarkeesian holds a bachelor's degree in political thought and social theory at York University. She is also an internationally acclaimed public presenter.
